About me

RC Sim Photography was born on November 18th 2021, however my passion for virtual photography started long before this; owning my own sim-racing team, DriveDead Racing, managing social posts and making them look professional was always a key point in my mind that had to look right ever since early 2021. So, after taking photos for the events we raced and publishing them on our socials and website, while doing this consistently, it brought a spark in photography that I didn’t think was there beforehand. During one of these events we raced in, someone asked me to do a photo of their car, which went lead me to take photos of the entire race and posting them for the rest of the drivers. After receiving positive reception, I opened up RC Sim Photography.

Starting small, I hopped into any event I could find and started taking pictures - posting them to my Twitter and Instagram regularly (sometimes 3 events in 1 day!). With my first album coming from the 2022 iRacing Daytona 24hrs, then the BMW Sim Cup and swiftly one of the IVRA Clubsport races, all in the space of a month. It was fair to say I was passionate!

From there, I kept it consistent, worked on my craft practically daily, always trying to find new ways to improve. Before long, I started to gain work with Race Clutch, and landed the position on the IVRA media team. From then on I created a deal with Biela Racing and was asked to be the photographer for the ROKiT British F4 Esports Championship, later in the year. Along with this, I also started to see a lot more customer orders, of which I am forever thankful for! Now having more work and more opportunities to keep pushing with this passion, there quickly began to be a rise in quality and performance.

As 2022 came to a close, I was nominated for the 2022 VCO Simmy Award as Best Photographer, however I was unfortunately not picked to win. After this, I looked to 2023 and how I could improve and develop. To open the year, VCO asked if I could join their content team for the VCO iRacing 24hrs of Daytona. An awesome opportunity, and one that kicked off the year well! As well as photography, I also wanted to try some videography too, and shortly made my first video highlighting the VCO iRacing 12hrs of Sebring. Having received a good reception from the video, I kept at it and was shortly making videos for Falken Esports, Altus Esports and another highlight reel for the iRacing 24hrs of Spa. Within this time, I partnered with Altus Esports to provide them both photo and video content for the foreseeable future! Later in the year, I was approached by Motorsport UK Esports to return as the photographer for the British F4 Esports Championship. As well as this, I was approached by Apex Racing UK to join the Apex Racing UK Content Team.

Closing out 2023, the VCO SIMMY awards rolled out again, and this year I was picked to win BEST PHOTOGRAPHY! A nice symbol to have of all the hard work that goes into each and every photo/video. A quick thank you too all that have been supporting me along the way - it really means the world!

From taking photos for the fun of, to now working with the top teams and organisations within sim-racing, I can’t thank every individual enough for their continued support throughout this journey!
